Yantra Yoga or "yoga of movement" is an ancient Tibetan system that has remained unchanged. In the 8th century A.D. the great Buddhist and Dzogchen teacher Padmasambhava transmitted orally Yantra called "Unity of Sun and Moon" to his disciple Vairochana ('Phrul 'khor nyi zla kha sbyor).
In 1970 Dzogchen teacher Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche started teaching this deep yoga in the West. The transmission line of Yantra Yoga has never been interrupted, and it is still transmitted in original purity.
Yantra Yoga includes body movements, breathing exercises and visualizations. Different types of movements are associated with different aspects of breathing and are used to control the energy of life. Since a person's physical and mental well-being depends primarily on the state of his energy, through the practice of Yantra Yoga you can maintain your health and keep your mind relaxed. In the same way, keeping the prana in its natural state allows you to find your mind as it is.
Fabio Andrico is a student of Chogyal Namkhai Norbu, one of two main international instructors of Yantra Yoga (Tibetan Yoga of Movement). In 1970s Fabio studied Yantra Yoga with Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, who later authorised Fabio to teach this method. "In order to practice the open level of Yantra Yoga it is no need to be a Buddhist or even to be on a spiritual path. We have body, energy and mind, and if we want to work with it, we can practice Yantra Yoga: there are absolutely no restrictions" (Fabio Andrico).
